FAQ

frequently asked

What is publicWorks?

expand_more

We're a not-for-profit design collective building civic infrastructure for Nigeria. We are creating tools that make local government transparent, accessible, and accountable.

What's the difference between LG, LCDA, and LDA?

expand_more

LG (Local Government) is the constitutional structure. LCDA (Local Council Development Area) is Lagos State's administrative subdivision. Both have chairmen with similar responsibilities for local infrastructure and services.

Is this free to use?

expand_more

Yes. All publicWorks tools are free to use.

How do you verify the official contact information?

expand_more

We source contact information from official government channels, verified social media accounts, and community verification. We update records regularly and encourage users to report outdated information.

When will VerifyNG be launched?

expand_more

VerifyNG (infrastructure issue reporting) launches in Q3 2026. Join our newsletter to stay updated.

Who built this and why?

expand_more

publicWorks was built by Nigerian designers and developers frustrated by the gap between citizens and government. We believe accountability starts with visibility. You can't hold officials responsible if you don't know who they are or how to reach them.
